Ein europäisches Durcheinander

ATäglich chauffiert Busfahrer Paolo (Vincenzo Amato) Touristen durch Paris und erklärt ihnen dabei voller Inbrunst seine ganz eigene Sicht der Dinge: Paris ist nicht mehr als ein zweitklassiges Rom! Seine wahre Leidenschaft gilt seiner Freundin und großen Liebe Greta (Nora Tschirner), einer deutschen Stewardess, der er heute endlich den langersehnten Heiratsantrag machen wird. Doch ausgerechnet am nächsten Tag begegnet ihm die bezaubernde Französin Cécile (Louise Monot). Die alleinerziehende, junge Mutter kann sich und ihre beiden Kinder als Werbemodel gerade so über Wasser halten und hetzt mit ihrem Fahrrad ständig von Termin zu Termin. An der Ampel streift ihr Blick den eines Touristenbusfahrers – und sie lächelt ihn an. Seitdem kann Paolo nicht mehr klar denken. Er liebt doch Greta! Aber diese unbekannte Schöne hat ihm den Kopf verdreht!

Von seinem besten Freund Derek (Paddy Considine), einem smarten Briten mit Hang zu Frauengeschichten, erhält er einen fatalen Tipp: Nur, wenn er die Frau kennen lernt, kann er sie vergessen und mit Greta glücklich werden. Doch der Versuch, Cécile anzusprechen, läuft schief – er fährt sie auf dem Fahrrad an. Von schlechtem Gewissen geplagt nimmt sich Paolo Cécile und ihrer kleinen Familie an, natürlich ohne Greta davon berichten zu können – oder zu wollen. Er weiß ja, wie temperamentvoll seine Freundin sein kann. Ein kleine Lüge, die sein Leben völlig auf den Kopf stellt!

Unter der Regie des Amerikaners Jeremy Leven ("Don Juan de Marco"), der auch das Drehbuch schrieb und seit vielen Jahren in Paris und Amerika lebt, spielen der Italiener Vincenzo Amato („Respiro“), der Brite Paddy Considine ("Das Bourne Ultimatum") und die aufstrebende französische Schauspielerin Louise Monot, die bereits mit Daniel Auteil für "MR 73" vor der Kamera stand, die weiteren Hauptrollen in dieser turbulenten Komödie, die mit ihrem klassischem Charme an Kinohits wie "Die Frau des Zeitreisenden" oder "Wie ein einziger Tag" erinnert, für die Jeremy Leven ebenfalls die Drehbücher schrieb. …
